OUT ON MY OWN

Sheila's first solo album (1984) after leaving Monsoon. It was Top 40 in Scandinavia's mainstream album charts. Sheila chose not to release any singles off her 13 solo albums for Indipop or Real World.

"....so that my work would have to be interpreted as a whole".

"Out On My Own" is a lyric-based upbeat album expanding on the Indian-influenced pop/rock style she pioneered with Monsoon. "Raga based melodies shot through with pop sensibilities". Tablas and drums, sitars and guitars, morcing, eqtara and various keyboards provide the backing for Sheila Chandra's melodic evocative and haunting vocals.

"Recorded at a time when I was enjoying my freedom post Monsoon - and having a lot of fun!".
